Turkish Muscle Diseases Association, founded in 1978, is headquartered in Istanbul and has three
branches in Ankara, Izmir, and Bursa. It aims to create a society where people with muscle disease
can experience the same social standards as healthy people. It works on the following topics: to
ensure the full and effective participation of muscle patients in social life in line with international
disability rights, to accurately inform and guide muscle patients, to bring muscle patients to the best
possible condition physically, socially, and psychologically, supporting research into the causes and
treatments of neuromuscular diseases under the guidance of science and ethics, informing the public
about neuromuscular diseases, improving the quality of life of muscle patients.
